It's that time again and with an election looming the women come out to support their political menfolk and it was US first lady Michelle Obama's turn to woo the crowds at the last night of the democratic convention.

Striding out to a Stevie Wonder hit and a jubilant packed house the beaming first lady spoke of the issues that Obama has been focusing on; healthcare and his controversial healthcare bill which has divided US opinion, call for higher taxes on wealthier Americans, backing same-sex marriage and abortion rights.

Whilst the sentiments of the speech, were well received in the democrat camp a recent opinion poll shows Mr Obama maintains a thin lead over Mr Romney. And With presidential elections on the cards in November 2012, both Obama and the republican hopeful are trying to capitalise every opportunity over the coming weeks.
