Swansea star Michu has dismissed recent reports linking him with a move away from the Liberty Stadium after a stunning start to life in the Premier League.

The Spanish attacking midfielder is the top scorer in the Premier League with 12 goals to his name and has been a revelation since joining the Welsh club for just £2million from Rayo Vellecano in the summer.

However, this impressive form has led to speculation that he may be the subject of numerous offers in the January transfer window, with Liverpool just one of the names mentioned.

The Metro reported on Monday that Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers was contemplating raiding his former club for the 26-year-old, as he attempts to recruit more attacking options and ease the pressure on Luis Suarez.

Liverpool have struggled for goals this season and there are limited options for Rodgers, with Fabio Borini the only other senior striker at the club.

Despite being linked with Liverpool and Spanish side Atletico Madrid, Michu reassured Swansea fans by declaring that he is happy to remain in Wales.

"Right now I'm happy, playing almost every minute and I'm very happy," he told Radio Marca, as reported on teamtalk. "It is always nice that you get talked about with teams like Atletico Madrid, one of the largest in Spain, but now I am very happy in Swansea."

Having demonstrated his ability in front of goal, there have also been suggestions that Michu could receive his first ever call-up to the Spanish national team. While he admits he would be delighted to receive a call from Vicente Del Bosque, he is simply concentrating on helping Swansea.

"If that call comes, fine, and if not, then I just stay the same," he added. "By now to have 12 goals is great, but above all I am enjoying what I am doing in Swansea. But here you have to battle as nobody gives you anything."
