Technology giant Microsoft is all set to release the stable public version of Windows 10 during Summer 2015.

Earlier, Microsoft had made public the list of Lumia smartphones eligible to test out the next Preview version of Windows 10.

However, the company had not issued any clarification as to whether non-Lumia Windows Phone users would be eligible to download and install newer Preview builds of Windows 10 for Phones.

Now, Microsoft's Insider head-honcho Gabriel Aul replying to a non-Lumia Windows Phone user via a new tweet (quoted by a WMPowerUser and a WindowsBlogItalia report) has clearly hinted that engineers at Redmond are currently exercising their brains in releasing Preview versions of Windows 10 for Phones to smartphones outside of the Lumia series.

But, Gabriel Aul desisted from revealing additional details with regard to the release of future Windows 10 for Phones builds supporting non-Lumia smartphones. These aspects are expected to be made public very shortly.

The first Preview build of Windows 10 for Phones was released to the public on 12 February, and the software is compatible only with six Lumia smartphones viz Lumia 630, Lumia 635, Lumia 636, Lumia 638, Lumia 730 and the Lumia 830.

Microsoft has stated that it would improve device compatibility (to support more devices) with each subsequent build.
