Where to purchase

In UK

Earlier, both the new mid-range Lumias were open for pre-ordering in the United Kingdom, but they can now be purchased directly from Microsoft's online stores across the country.

Prospective customers can buy Lumia 640 XL and Lumia 640 XL LTE directly via Microsoft's online store.

The Lumia 640 LTE and 640 XL LTE can be purchased for a price of £170 and £219 respectively.

The UK's major wireless network service provider EE has officially made available the Microsoft Lumia 640 LTE with its Wi-Fi calling service pre-activated, across the UK.

With Wi-Fi calling, users of the Lumia 640 LTE (and other smartphones) will be able to make voice calls over Wi-Fi even in the absence of a wireless network signal.

In India

In India, Microsoft's Lumia 640 is available only from Flipkart at this point in time. However, the Microsoft Lumia 640 XL can be purchased from wide range of channels (both physical and online retail stores) across the country.

In India, Lumia 640 has a price tag of Rs 11,999 ($193, £130), while the Lumia 640 XL can be purchased for Rs 15,800 ($254, £171).

Potential buyers of Microsoft Lumia 640 and Lumia 640 XL, in India, need to remember that only the 3G variants of both the smartphones have been launched in the country.
