Miley Cyrus Flaunts da Vinci Heart Tattoo and Explains Missing Engagement Ring

Amid reports singer/actress Miley Cyrus and her Australian beau, Liam Hemsworth, are on the verge of a break-up, the Disney star has splurged on a new tattoo - a heart-shaped design.

Celebrity tattooist Kat Von D took to Twitter to talk about the design on Cyrus's arm - a replica of Leonardo da Vinci's Anatomical Heart drawings.

"Just did the RADDEST tattoo on @MileyCyrus -a miniature rendition of a daVinci anatomical heart!" she tweeted.

The pop singer has around 17 tattoos, including a Theodore Roosevelt quotation on her left forearm, a dreamcatcher on her torso and seven tiny tattoos on the fingers of her right hand.

Although the 20-year-old recently vowed not to talk about anything but music on social networking sites, a comment on Twitter may explain why her engagement ring is missing. Reports Cyrus and Hemsworth had called off their marriage gathered steam after she was spotted without the engagement ring.

However, it now appears the explanation is simple - that it was getting fixed.

One of Cyrus's back-up singers, Lindsey J Lee tweeted about her own engagement ring - that it was getting fixed because one of the diamonds had come loose. Cyrus responded, suggesting her ring had a similar problem.

"had to send off my engagement ring today to get fixed... one of the little diamonds fell out... I feel naked without it :( so sad," Lee posted.

"@lindseyjlee ugh that's the worst! I just had a similar situation except when it happens to me then everyone says my wedding is off," Cyrus responded.

Lee responded: "@MileyCyrus OMG that sucks! people just need to mind their own business ;) I saw first hand how happy u & Liam are... don't let them get to u"
