Miley Cyrus who is set to host the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards will reportedly take a dig at Taylor Swift at the event.

In an interview with Marie Claire, the 22-year-old former Disney star said Calvin Harris' girlfriend's Bad Blood music video "promotes violence".

The Red singer did not respond to her comments and according to a report in Hollywood Life, Cyrus is infuriated by the silence and will seek revenge during the award ceremony.

"Miley is dead set on providing a MTV VMAs that people won't stop talking about," a source said. "She'll be outrageous, funny and really push the envelope as long as it shocks people. Taylor is by far her biggest target and Miley is thinking of ways to subtly diss her."

"She loves the controversy and is upset that Taylor hasn't said anything about it," the insider added.

At the event, Swift's Bad Blood has been nominated for seven awards, including Video of the Year.

Meanwhile, in 2013, Cyrus received backlash for her performance at the MTV Video Music Awards held at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

The former Hannah Montana star performed her hit single We Can't Stop and later a duet of Blurred Lines with Robin Thicke. Cyrus who came on stage in a silver sequin leotard with an image of a bear sticking his tongue out, later slipped into a flesh-toned plastic bikini.

The erotic routine was the most talked about incident from the show, reportedly drawing 306,000 tweets per minute.
