The rehearsals have begun for all the forces ceremonial marching bands, as the Queens Diamond Jubilee celebrations get closer.

The British does pomp and ceremony like no other, with the Scots Guards musicians in full Summer order, dusting off their brasses and making sure the fancy footwork is all in time to the music for the big day.

Paul Barker Warrant Officer of the Royal Navy, when asked how important this event was to him replied cheekily, just as important as the day he got married. (Out word is doing)

While Lieutenant Colonel Dan Hughes said it was a unique privilege to be taking part.( out word is unique privilege)

This will form the highlight of the jubilee weekend. As well as a 6o gun salute from The King's Troop Royal Horse Artillery and the navy will dispatch several vessels, including one featuring a band of Royal Marines.

And I'll leave you with a couple of seconds of this lovely band music at Wellington Barracks to enjoy.
