Supermodel Cara Delevingne has used her star power to launch fashion brand Burberry's new Snapchat account, ahead of the label's London in Los Angeles party.

The 22-year-old Burberry ambassador shared photos of herself from a bathroom at the Chateau Marmont hotel, dressed in a bathrobe and also reading a book in bed.

Alongside one photo, the Paper Towns actress commented: "This time last year I was at Burberry's show in Shanghai, but it sounds like they've taken it to the next level."

By joining Snapchat, Burberry have become one of the first luxury retailers to jump onboard the social media app and it is thought they are hoping to appeal to a younger audience.

The marketing move coincides with the brand's huge party, which will be held at the famous Griffith Observatory on 16 April, and will see models Jourdan Dunn, Charlotte Wiggins, Amber Amberson and Ella Richardson, modelling the label's Autumn/Winter 2015 collection.

According to Women's Wear Daily, other celebrities expected to attend, include British model Naomi Campbell, Victoria and David Beckham and American Idol host Ryan Seacrest. Musical performances are also expected to take place.

Chief marketing officer of Olapic, John Elkiam, commended the British label for joining Snapchat, telling the website: "They are leveraging brand ambassadors like Cara [Delevingne], who are perfectly suited to the message, the demographic and the platform. It is a great example of how to do it right."

Delevingne has modelled for Burberry since 2011 and fronted a campaign with Kate Moss in December 2014 for the My Burberry fragrance. The advert saw the British models don the brand's iconic camel trench coats while they also shared an embrace while topless.
