Marc Marquez was the fastest during Friday's practice session of the 2014 Grand Prix of the Americas as the defending champion will start the qualifying from the front at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas.

Practice Review

Marquez continued his brilliant form from Qatar to Austin as the Honda rider was the fastest during the second practice session on Friday, clocking a time of 2:03.490s. The Spaniard was the fastest during the first practice session and has maintained his position during Free Practice 2.

Ducati rider Andrea Dovizioso will start the qualifying from the second spot as the Italian was 1.005s behind the defending champion. Marquez's Honda teammate Dani Pedrosa was third after clocking a time of 2:04.623s.

Yamaha rider Valentino Rossi was in the sixth place and his teammate Jorge Lorenzo will start from the ninth spot. Britain star Cal Crutchlow struggled with his new team Ducati as he was ninth. Tech 3 rider Bradley Smith managed to finish in the top 10 and took the 10<sup>th spot.
