Defending champions Marc Marquez was the fastest during the qualifying session of the 2014 Grand Prix of the Americas and will take pole for Sunday's race at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas.

Qualifying Review

The Honda rider continued his Friday's dominance during the qualifying session. Marquez clocked a time of 2:02.773s in QP 2, which saw him take his second pole of the season. After winning the Qatar Grand Prix last month, the Spaniard would be looking to make it two out of two in Texas on Sunday.

Marquez's Honda teammate Dani Pedrosa was second and was 0.289s behind his compatriot. LCR rider Stefan Bradl would be looking to give competition to the championship leader, as he will start the race of the Grand Prix of the Americas from the third spot.

Yamaha's Jorge Lorenzo and Valentino Rossi will start Sunday's race from fifth and sixth spot respectively. While Britain star and Ducati rider Cal Cructhlow was seventh, with a time of 2:03.780.
