The 20th annual MTV Europe Music Awards (EMA) is due to be held at Hydro Arena in Glasgow, Scotland on 9 November.

The ceremony will be aired live on MTV at 9pm CET (8 pm GMT). A special red carpet live show can be viewed on the event's website at 8 pm CET.

The event will be hosted by rapper Nicki Minaj, who is also expected to take to the stage to perform.

This year's event includes performances by Enrique Iglesias, Calvin Harris, Charli XCX, Kiesza, Royal Blood, Ariana Grande, Ed Sheeran and U2.

Katy Perry leads this year's MTV Europe Music Awards with an impressive seven nominations including the coveted best video and best song awards.

Grande has bagged nominations in six categories, including best pop and best newcomer.

Singer and producer Pharrell Williams is up for five awards, while boy band One Direction and soul singer Sam Smith are representing the UK with four nominations each.

Meanwhile, Ozzy Osbourne will be honoured with the Global Icon Award.
