Overview

Mumbai Indians welcome league leaders Kolkata Knight Riders to the Wankhede Stadium in what could be their final match before they change venues. The water shortage in Maharashtra has forced the two-time champions to shift their base to Rajasthan for the remainder of the campaign.

The Rohit Sharma-led team have played seven games thus far, the most amongst all teams, but have won just three. They are currently in the fifth place on the table, but are in good form having won two of their last three games.

The Knight Riders, on the other hand, have been virtually unstoppable this season barring their loss to Mumbai at the Eden Gardens earlier in the campaign. They will be keen to exact revenge. The stats show that KKR are top of the league due to complete team effort. They have just one batsman – skipper Gautham Gambhir – in the top 10 of the run getters thus far, while their top wicket taking bowler is Umesh Yadav, but he sits in the 12th place on the overall list.

Both the teams are two-time winners of the IPL and owing to their recent form, MI vs KKR can clearly be billed as one of the biggest of the tournament during the league stages.
