The film and television cast of "The Muppets" received a collective Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, at the El Capitan Theater on 20 March.

The entire core team, consisting of Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear and Gonzo the Great, wre on hand to receive what is the 2,466th Star on that illustrious boulevard.

"We are just really happy to be on Hollywood Boulevard today, joining some of the greatest names in show biz," Kermit the Frog was quoted as saying by MSNBC.

The characters of "The Muppets" have been popular since the 1950s. Apart from "The Muppets", the other fictional characters who received their Hollywood Walk of Fame were Big Bird, Bugs Bunny, Donald Duck, Godzilla, Mickey Mouse, the Rugrats, Shrek, the Simpsons, Snow White, Tinker Bell, Winnie-the-Pooh and Woody Woodpecker.

According to eonline, during the induction ceremony, Lisa Hendon, the eldest daughter of "The Muppets" creator Jim Henson, and Walt Disney Studios' Chairman, Rich Ross, were present... to represent, well... the humans!
