In this week's Music Minute, Green Day are forced to postpone their tour dates, Shawn Mendes releases his new album Illuminate and Emeli Sande premieres her new single.

Green Day tour

Sad news for Green Day fans as the US rock band have postponed several dates on their forthcoming tour due to a mystery illness. Billie Joe Armstrong, Tre Cool and Mike Dirnt were due to kick-off the North American leg of their Revolution Radio jaunt on 20 September but have now postponed the first three dates while also cancelling their show in Toronto on 23 September.

In a statement, the band said: "We're so sad to announce we have to postpone three shows and cancel Toronto. Many of us have been battling this infection for days on end to be ready, and it just got the best of us."

New dates for Green Day's shows in St Louis, Chicago and Detroit are yet to be announced but the tour will resume on the 26 September in Columbus, Ohio.

Shawn Mendes Illuminate album

Pop star Shawn Mendes is set to release his second studio album Illuminate this Friday (23 September). The 12-track album will feature the singles Mercy and Treat You Better but it appears there are no collaborations on the record.

The Stitches singer topped the Billboard 200 chart with his debut Handwritten in 2015 so the singer stands a good chance of recreating this success. The album will be supported by the Illuminate World Tour in 2017 and tickets are on sale now.

Emeli Sande releases her new single

Yes, vocal queen Emeli Sande is back and she's got a big ballad on her hands. The singer debuted her comeback single Hurts on 16 September and it's full of heartbreak, backing choirs and orchestral sounds. Hurts will feature on Sande's forthcoming album Long Live The Angels, which is set for release on 11 November.
