Director Josh Boone has teased some of the characters that moviegoers could see in his upcoming movie titled New Mutants. The filmmaker shared some images of the characters that include Warlock, Wolfsbane, Mirage, Cannonball, Sunspot and Magik, on his Instagram account.
Boone is yet to officially confirm the character line-up for the movie. But sources have apparently told Screen Rant that the images the director has shared do represent characters that are planned to be included in the film.
Chris Claremont and artist Bob McLeod created the first superhero team for the New Mutants comics in 1982. The first series of the comics from 1983 until 1991 witnessed interpersonal and group conflicts, and also saw the introduction to Deadpool. In 2003, the second New Mutants series titled X-Force was launched. The series saw a team of young teenage mutants enrolled at professor Xavier's school. In 2004, the series was relaunched as New X-Men: Academy X.
The movie doesn't have an official release date yet, but is expected to be released in late 2017 or early 2018.
