The teenage son of Newport gunman Darren Williams was found dead in the same place his father committed suicide.

Williams shot his estranged wife, Rachel on Friday, 19 August with a double-barrelled shotgun in the Carol-Ann Hair Salon in Malpas where she worked.

He open fired on his wife, wounding her as well as Connie Evans, a 92-year-old widow and a second elderly customer.

Jack Williams, his son, was found meters away from where his father's body was found a family spokesman said "His mother was shot and his dad found hanged, all within a couple of hours.

"Now Rachel is going through hell all over again, she is aware that Jack was very, very upset by the whole business."

Jack was the couple's only child, weeks before the shooting his parents filed for divorce and were set to sell the family home.

The Gwent coroner said that they were still investigating Jack's death; however there was no reason to suspect foul play. The inquest is due to be opened after a post-mortem is concluded.
