The biggest names in music, television, movies and sports will grace the orange carpet this weekend at the 27th Annual Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards.

The awards ceremony will be hosted at the University of Southern California's Galen Center by Transformers actor Mark Wahlberg, on Saturday 29 March from 8 pm EST (1am GMT).

  • Live updates are available on the Awards' Facebook page and Twitter (follow hash tag - #KCA).

Winners in each category will receive Nickelodeon orange blimps.

An annual tradition of the Kids' Choice Awards is showering celebrities with green slime. One of the most talked-about sliming of all time was Katy Perry, who was slimed in 2010 after opening a box on stage.

This year's presenters include Jim Parsons, Kaley Cuoco, Lea Michele, John Cena, Tia Mowry, Ross Lynch, Will Arnett, Michael Strahan, Kristen Bell, Debby Ryan, and Andy Samberg.

American pop singer Austin Mahone, Wake Me Up singer Aloe Blacc and Indie rock band American Authors are musical performers at the event.

Previously, Russell Hicks, Nickelodeon's president of content development and production told The Hollywood Reporter that the network is excited having Wahlberg on board.

"We are thrilled to welcome a superstar like Mark Wahlberg as he takes the helm as our master of ceremonies at the biggest kid event of the year," Hicks said. "We can't wait for him to host and have lots of slime-filled fun with Hollywood's biggest stars and our audience."

Wahlberg will join the list of previous hosts that includes Will Smith, Cameron Diaz, Ben Stiller, Jack Black, Dwayne Johnson and Josh Duhamel.
