Leading Brexiteer Nigel Farage is reportedly being eyed by ITV bosses as a contestant on this year's I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! The former Ukip leader, who recently stepped down after running a successful campaign for Britain to leave the EU, is reportedly being offered £250,000 ($323,750) by the show's producers to join the testicle-munching antics Down Under.

"It would be TV gold to see Farage chomping on kangaroo anus or a turkey testicle in a Bushtucker trial," an undisclosed source told The Mirror. "Farage is a win with British voters – so producers think viewers would be keen to pick up the phone and nominate him to be covered in cockroaches or fish guts… Besides that, his controversial views are bound to see him come to blows with the other stars. It's easy to see why ITV are desperate to sign him up."

Producers might have trouble coaxing Farage back into the limelight, after he quit the political party and told supporters. "I want my life back."

However, Farage has expressed his interest in participating in an EU Committee special version of Celebrity Big Brother, saying: "Now that would be very tempting. I would like to torture them, mentally, slowly, for all the bad things they've done."

ITV, who have included politicians in the show's past are reportedly' pulling out all the stops' to secure the 52-year-old Brexiteer.

Producers think audiences are keen to see outspoken Farage open up about the EU campaign, they may even raise their offer to £500,000, should he refuse their first offer.

"Everyone is talking about Brexit, so producers are desperate to snare one of the biggest names from the Leave campaign for the jungle to make it the most talked about series yet… Farage is a win with British voters – so producers think viewers would be keen to pick up the phone and nominate him to be covered in cockroaches or fish guts."

Former Conservative Party member Edwina Currie and ex-Liberal Democrat MP Lembit Opik both having hit the jungle for a spot of televised humiliation. Opik, famous for his romance with one half of The Cheeky Girls, was also another picked politician by producers in the past.

"Edwina's explosive rows with campmates was compulsive viewing, and Lembit's trials were a ratings hit," the source added.

Neil Hamilton, who appeared with wife Christine, were all huge hits, while Nadine Dorries was suspended from the Conservative Party back in 2012 when she signed up for I'm A Celebrity without consulting George Young.
