Nintendo will reveal a new IP during the second day of its E3 2016 Treehouse livestream event. All we know at the moment is that the game is a role-playing game being developed for the Nintendo 3DS handheld.

Nintendo spent the first day of its E3 livestream debuting gameplay from Pokémon Sun and Moon, and revealing a ton of information about Wii U and Nintendo NX title The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

News of the new IP's announcement was spotted by Nintendo Everything at the bottom of a press release issued last night (14 June) following day one of the stream.

The Legend of Zelda is the company's only playable game at the Los Angeles trade show, but not the only game it has or will be talking about. Day two of the livestream will start with an announcement from Shigeru Miyamoto relating to mobile title Pokémon Go, and a Q&A with developer Niantic Labs.

The rest of the show will focus on the new IP, Wii U title Paper Mario: Colour Splash, Monster Hunter Generations, Yo-Kai Watch 2: Bony Spirits and Yo-Kai Watch 2: Fleshy Souls, Rhythm Heaven Megamix, Dragon Quest 7: Fragments of the Forgotten Past and Tokyo Mirage Sessions.

The stream will be available to watch here.
