A murder investigation has been launched after a man was stabbed to death in broad daylight in a leafy residential street in north London. Emergency services had been called to North Finchley at 2.43pm on Tuesday (29 March).

The victim, believed to be in his 20s, was discovered by paramedics and police collapsed and suffering a knife wound in Woodside Grange Road, a quiet street which is home to a school and care home for the elderly.

The man was taken to hospital but died a short while later. Detectives from the Met Police's Homicide and Major Crime Command are now investigating. No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing. Next of kin have not yet been informed.
