Alan Blackman admitted trespassing into a barn and trying to have sex with a horse Handout

Animal fetish intruder Alan Blackman has been jailed for sneaking into a Norfolk barn and having sex with a horse. The 31-year-old, of no fixed address, admitted trespassing into the Redenhall barn on 6 August with the intention of committing a sexual offence and attempted intercourse with a horse, at an earlier hearing at Norwich crown court. Vets treated the horse after the attack before alerting police.

On Friday (23 October) he was sentenced to 14 months' imprisonment at the same court after proceedings were delayed while psychologists determined if he was mentally stable. The married father-of-one denied in a Facebook post that he was the man police were looking for, saying naysayers were "putting my name to a face which isn't me".

But he was arrested and charged after police released CCTV screenshots that showed Blackman entering the barn. He was apparently recognised by his large ears. At the previous hearing, Judge Stephen Holt remanded Blackman in custody ahead of his sentencing. "This is clearly a case where a psychiatric report would assist the court," Holt said. "You have pleaded guilty at the earliest opportunity but the court needs to know more about you."
