Overview

Serbian Novak Djokovic will be looking to take revenge against Feliciano Lopez when they meet in the fourth round of the BNP Paribas Open on 16 March. It was against Lopez in the Dubai Open that Djokovic picked up an eye injury that ruled him out of action for almost a month.

His performances here at Indian Wells so far show that the world number one has not yet fully recovered from his eye problem. However, he has soldiered on and no doubt will improve as he progresses in the tournament. Despite his indifferent form, the two-time Indian Wells winner goes into the tie as the favourite.

His opponent, Spaniard Feliciano Lopez, is enjoying a solid 2016 season but has failed to win anything so far. Aged 34, he is the second oldest player in the top 30 behind Roger Federer, but it does not show when he plays.

The world number 21 is capable of producing an upset on his day and will fancy Djokovic's scalp considering the Serbian has not yet found top form.

Head-to-Head

This will be the eighth time the duo face each other in ATP World Tour history, with Djokovic winning seven of those encounters. Their most recent game was at the recently concluded Dubai Open, where the Serbian retired hurt due to an eye problem.
