The 2014 ATP season will be given a fitting send off on Sunday as the top two players in the world do battle for the most prestigious indoor crown in the world in the final match of the year.

Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer, the only two unbeaten players at this year's ATP World Tour Finals, do battle for a 37th time with both players chasing pieces of history

Djokovic, already confirmed as the world No.1 after qualifying for the last four with a 3-0 round robin record,is looking to become the first player for 27 years to claim a third title on the bounce at the season-ending tour finals.

Only Illie Nastase and Ivan Lendl have ever won the title three times in a row, with Djokovic seeking to join that illustrious list but in his way is the most successful player in the tournament's format.

Already with six titles to his name, Federer is looking to further cement his name as the tournament's finest player with a record seventh title and third in five years in London.

The Swiss No.1 has been the dominant player of late in the pair's epic rivalry, winning three of their five meetings in 2014 including the most recent match in the Shanghai Masters semi-final. Djokovic though prevailed over five-sets in a thrilling Wimbledon final in the summer.

The physical wear and tear both players have faced in reaching the final, with Djokovic claiming he was exhausted after beating Kei Nishikori, while Federer had to save four match points before dismissing the challenge of Stanislas Wawrinka in the longest match of the tournament so far.

What they said:

Novak Djokovic: "I played a few great matches against Roger this year. I lost more than I won this season. The last one was in Shanghai where he played a great match and was a better player on the court. I'm going to have to deliver my best game because that is what is needed when you play against Roger at this stage of one of the most important tournaments of the year. We all know how good he is in finals. I know what to expect from him. Hopefully I can deliver what I imagine."

Roger Federer: "Conditions are definitely different here. Balls are different. Surface is a bit, I don't know, maybe slower. I'm not sure. It just plays different. Feels different. I think the balls have the most to do with it. I think we might see a bit different rallies, not so easy just to go big. But obviously I got to be confident, you know, moving forward. I got to be there to challenge him and make him hit one good shot after another."
