Overview

As the first week of the 2016 edition edges to its conclusion there is no doubt as to who the best player has been on court. Defending champion Novak Djokovic continues to amaze people despite playing in second gear. This is how he plays in the opening stages of any tournament, saving as much energy as he can for the more important games that come later. The world number one has won both his games against James Ward and Adrian Mannarino in straight sets.

His opponent Sam Querrey whose best result at Wimbledon came in 2010 when he reached the fourth round, has had a decent 2016 without winning anything major. He has played Djokovic nine times so far, winning only one game, which came in 2012 at the Paris Masters. Querrey's big serve can be dangerous on grass courts but he is not expected to cause an upset against the best player in the world.
