They have conquered the charts and now One Direction are taking their talents to soap land.

The pop superstars - Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson - are set to perform live on the set of EastEnders for this year's BBC Children In Need Appeal show.

One Direction will be snubbing more glamorous stages to sing their hit Steal My Girl as well as new song Night Changes from the bridge in Albert Square.

"We are thrilled to be performing on BBC Children In Need again this year," the boys said.

"It's a charity that we hold very close to our hearts and we are really excited about our special performance in the iconic Albert Square."

The Children In Need 2014 Appeal show will kick off on 14 November (Friday) from 7.30pm on BBC One and BBC Two and will also include a sketch featuring former residents Cindy Beale, Pat Butcher and Kathy Mitchell.

Meanwhile, Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, Susan Boyle, Boyzone and S Club 7 have all been confirmed for this year's fundraiser.

Fans can also look forward to seeing The Script perform in The Queen Vic and Gareth Malone and his All-Star Choir belting out the the official BBC Children in Need single on TV for the first time.
