OnePlus Two/OnePlus One Lite likely to be launched on 20 April OnePlus

OnePlus, which has an event scheduled on 20 April is highly expected to launch two smartphones, and one among these devices is likely to be the sequel to the popular OnePlus One.

Now, according to a new report, apart from the OnePlus Two, One Plus is expected to launch a smartphone called OnePlus One Lite that is said to be an affordable alternative to the high-end OnePlus Two and is expected to feature updated technical specifications than the current-gen OnePlus One.

Until the above report published in DroidPile, and quoted by PhoneArena, it was expected that the OnePlus Two would be a direct successor to OnePlus One as the Two is more likely to feature high-end key tech-specs.

The latest report adds meat to earlier reports that hinted at OnePlus launching a comparatively affordable handset, to potentially cater to buyers stuck on shoestring budgets.

However, exact technical details of the purported OnePlus One Lite are yet to surface at this point in time.

As for the OnePlus Two, potential buyers of this smartphone are likely to have to go through the OnePlus' invite system, according to the Droid Pile report, but the Chinese smartphone company is said to be working on devising a more convenient smartphone procuring mechanism.

Currently, OnePlus' 20 April event invite contains the tagline 'Anything could happen' thus adding substance to the purported launch of OnePlus One Lite.

Besides, it should do a world of good for OnePlus to put to rest all user anticipation by officially showcasing OnePlus Two, considering the fact that the timeline for the handset's potential unboxing will be in sync with that of its predecessor. OnePlus One was officially launched in April last year.

As of now, OnePlus Two is rumoured to come incorporated with the following key technical aspects:

  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor
  • 5.5in display with comparatively better resolution than the current-gen OnePlus One
  • Android 5.0
  • Dual SIM-card support
  • 4GB RAM onboard
  • MicroSD card support; for expanding internal storage
  • 3300 mAh battery.
