OnePlus Two
OnePlus Two expected to be showcased on 20 April IBTimes UK

Chinese smartphone brand OnePlus which impressed loyalists throughout the world with its budget flagship killer OnePlus One, is now set to launch the smartphone's sequel, termed OnePlus Two this year.

However, now it seems that the OnePlus Two will be showcased earlier than expected, with the official launch slated to take place in Q3 2015, at an event in April 2015.

The company has sent out an official invite, for an event to be held of 20 April, with the tagline 'Anything could happen' which could suggest a major launch.

It is interesting to note that the OnePlus One was officially showcased in April 2014 which hints at its successor, the OnePlus Two, being possibly showcased on 20 April.

OnePlus could also launch either one or both of the smartphones that it is confirmed to be launching in 2015, during the 20 April event. But, the probability of OnePlus Two being showcased (not launched) seems greater considering the fact that the smartphone has been the subject of enhanced pre-launch hype thus leading to increased user anticipation.

Besides, OnePlus could put to rest all user anticipation by officially showcasing OnePlus Two, considering the fact that the timeline for the handset's potential unboxing will be in sync with that of its predecessor.

As of now, OnePlus Two is rumoured to come incorporated with the following key technical aspects:

  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor
  • 5.5in display with comparatively better resolution than the current-gen OnePlus One
  • Android 5.0
  • Dual SIM-card support
  • 4GB RAM onboard
  • MicroSD card support; for expanding internal storage
  • 3300 mAh battery
