Twilight star Kristen Stewart arrived on a pair of crutches for the 85th annual Academy Awards, held at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood. The glamorous star of the hugely popular vampire-themed fantasy film series clearly took a tumble but refused to reveal what happened!

All we do know, courtesy, MTV News correspondent Josh Horowitz, is that she was an idiot.

"Just exchanged a quick hello with Kristen Stewart. I asked her what happened to her and she screamed "I'm an idiot!" #oscars," Horowitz tweeted.

The 22-year-old Stewart, who will hit the stage at some point in the evening, as a presenter, looked gorgeous in a Reema Acra gown she accessorised with Jimmy Choo shoes and Fred Leighton jewels. Her film, Snow White and the Huntsman, directed by Rupert Sanders, was nominated for Best Costume Design and Best Visual Effects.

Tragically, though, the film won neither. The beautiful remake of Leo Tolstoy's iconic Russian novel, Anna Karenina, won Jacqueline Durran her first Oscar (for Costume Design). And Ang Lee's magical adaptation of Yann Martel's book, Life of Pi, wins Best Visual Effects for Bill Westenhofer, Guillaume Rocheron, Erik-Jan De Boer and Donald R. Elliott.

Meanwhile, Stewart was recently spotted having dinner with on-off boyfriend Robert Pattinson's best friend - singer/songwriter Marcus Foster - at En Sushi in Los Feliz. The duo were at the birthday party of her friend, Scout Taylor Compton.
