The Oscars 2016 saw a return to real old school glamour in the beauty department with the red carpet stars glowing with dewy skin and vibrant lip colours like they were in softly-lit Hollywood classics.

The likes of Jennifer Lawrence, Kate Winslet and Cate Blanchett kept the focus on their eyes, opting for glowing highlighted skin and a nude lip. Contrastingly, we also saw Rooney Mara, Naomi Watts and this year's best actress winner Brie Larson opting for a statement berry lip to make this year's ceremony a sultry and classic affair.

If you've been left wanting some Hollywood glamour in your life, here are the best products to achieve these looks:

Start with prepping your skin with a super luminous base. Chanel, Le Blance De Chanel is the perfect way to create luminosity to the skin, without looking greasy. Smooth this over the face under your foundation to illuminate your complexion. This adds a subtle inner glow to the skin and perfectly evens out the skin's texture. Leaving you fresh-faced like Rachel McAdams.

This product has a long list of promises from illuminating the skin, smoothing, hydrating and minimising pores and it really does deliver. Take a small amount and buff into the skin until seamless creating synergy between the foundation and your skin. Build up in layers where needed, remembering that thin layers always leaves a more natural look to the skin. To achieve a look like Jennifer Lawrence this really is beautiful skin in a bottle.

For this look, the Illamascqua Glamore lipstick is the perfect nude lipstick for a glamorous look, rich in colour and has a long lasting satin finish. Apply liberally, blot and apply again. Building up layers will make the colour last longer and for an even longer lasting finish use your favourite nude lipstick as a base.

For the perfect blush that's going to sculpt the face and look like Sofia Vergara the new Nars Intensity Blushes, available in six shades, can create real dimension. These can be used wet or dry depending on the intensity required. For a flush of colour, take a fluffy synthetic brush and dust a small amount over the apples of your cheeks, bringing it up following the cheekbone. Blush is always first to fade, and doesn't show up well in photographs, so remember to add a little more that you think, and apply in thin layers to avoid the looking like Coco the clown.

Gently chisel out some cheek bones like Chrissy Teigen to add some extra definition. The Stila shape & shade custom contour duo palette is perfect for cheating your way to cheekbones or highlighting what you have. A matte formulation that gives a natural look, the formula allows you to build colour without looking muddy. Take a sculpting brush and suck in your cheeks and place the contour powder in the natural hollows of your face. Don't take the product down too far, only to the edge of your eye, this will avoid you looking muddy. For further sculpting try running a small amount of powder around your jaw line to create definition and slim the face.

Berry Shades

Make sure your lips are well exfoliated as any dry patches will really show with matte formulations. To add comfort simply apply some lip balm and massage into your lips, blot before you apply your lipstick to make sure the balm doesn't effect the finish.
