Overwatch Olympics Summer Games
Three of the new skins available in the limited edition Loot Boxes Blizzard/Laced Up Lauren

Blizzard's hit shooter Overwatch is getting an Olympic makeover in August with "Summer Games Loot Boxes" offering unofficial Rio 2016-inspired skins and items for Overwatch heroes, including a track and field costume for Tracer and a weightlifter outfit for Zarya.

These items and many more will be available in Loot Boxes that users will be able to purchase until 22 August, according to a listing on the PlayStation Store.

"Each contains four items, at least one of which is guaranteed to be a Summer Games skin, spray, highlight intro, emote, victory pose, player icon, or voice line," reads the description.

There are more than 90 in-game cosmetic items that can be found in the boxes, which are not available to purchase with in-game currency accumulated through play. If players double up on items they'll receive instant credit that they will be able to use on other items.

Examples of the skins available in the boxes were spotted in packages sent to streamers and members of the media – including Twitch streamer Laced Up Lauren. Her pictures also show off Lucario's football skin.

Some accompanying stickers show Overwatch heroes indulging in a bit tennis, archery, judo, gymnastics, golf, basketball, fencing, beach volleyball, cycling and more. While this doesn't necessarily mean skins for each, it gives us an idea of what to expect.

There's also a hint that a new map may be coming to the game.

Below are the prices for each available set of Loot Boxes.

  • 2 x Summer Games Loot Box - £1.69
  • 5 x Summer Games Loot Box - £3.99
  • 11 x Summer Games Loot Box - £7.99
  • 24 x Summer Games Loot Box - £15.99
  • 50 x Summer Games Loot Box - £32.99

Overwatch is available on PS4, Xbox One and PC. The Olympic-themed items will be available on all platforms.
