Tomas Rosicky
Rosicky is one of the world's top midfielders, according to Arsenal star Mesut Ozil.

Mesut Ozil believes that Tomas Rosicky is amongst the world's best midfielders with the Arsenal star lavishing the highest praise on his teammate.

Ozil and Rosicky have forged a good understanding this season after the German made a shock deadline day move to the Gunners, smashing their transfer record in the process.

Their efforts alongside one another have led to Arsenal sitting at the top of the table with a first Premier League title in 10 years now a real possibility and Rosicky recently stated that playing alongside Ozil makes his job in midfield a particularly enjoyable one.

It certainly helps that the Gunners have lost just six times this season across the board and Ozil says that working with Rosicky has played an important role in that as he learns from who he considers to be one of the world's best.

"The feeling is mutual because we are similar types of player," Ozil told the Arsenal website. "We're strong when we're on the ball, we play quickly and I have lots of fun playing alongside the team.

"In my opinion Tomas belongs to the best midfielders in the Premier League. When you see how much he gives for the team and how he enjoys being on the ball it makes us happy to have a player like that in our ranks."

Ozil's move to Arsenal was somewhat surprising as he gave up a future with Real Madrid on the back of Arsene Wenger's men struggling to make the top four.

But he insists that he always knew the club were able to challenge for silverware with their style of play enviable to all of Europe's top teams.

"Before I came to Arsenal, I knew that the club belonged among the top five in Europe," he explained. "I knew that they were technically gifted and strong and you see that on the training ground when we are doing passing drills - the ball is always moving.

"I think that's thanks to the way young players are coached at the club because they always train with the ball, run passing drills and ultimately it's being rewarded."
