So who would have guessed that Emma Watson and Kanye West have the same taste in films?
The duo have both been singing the praises of Idris Elba's new film Pacific Rim on Twitter after watching a pre-screening of the sci-fi ahead of its official release.
West, 36, loved the film so much that he broke his self-imposed silence to share his excitement with fans.
"I saw a pre-screening of Pacific Rim yesterday and it's easily one of my favorite movies of all time," he told his 9.7 million followers.
He later added. "This is not another "Robot" movie. Guillermo del Toro is a master."
Watson, who rose to fame playing Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter films, also gave the film rave reviews.
"Guillermo's new film is out soon. Beautiful special effects, huge scope, BIG battles. Wish I could fight like Mako. #pacificRim #july12th." the 23-year-old star told her fans.
Pacific Rim takes place in a world where mankind has been ravaged by a plague of skyscraper-sized aliens which threaten mankind's existence. Giant robots piloted by humans are deployed to fight off the menace.
Idris Elba and Charlie Hunnam, who are among the strong cast, have since reacted to the highly positive feeback.
Elba said: "That's great. He's got great taste, he's a visionary. So I was really excited that he tweeted about it."
Hunnam was equally pleased saying: "I'm not really involved with the world of Twitter but that's really cool. High praise indeed. That is very cool."
Pacific Rim opens in cinemas on 12 July
