Teacher Jeremy Forrest was found guilty of abducting a schoolgirl.

Paedophile teacher Jeremy Forrest is set to meet the schoolgirl he abducted and sexually assaulted once again.

Forrest is serving five and a half years for kidnapping and five counts of sexual activity with the girl, who was a pupil in the school he taught at.

An international manhunt was triggered for Forrest when the pair vanished in 2012. They were eventually found in Bordeaux, France, after eight days on the run.

Relatives of the teenager are supportive of the meeting going ahead in the hope it will bring "closure", reported the Mirror.

Forrest breached the teachers' code of conduct by entering into a relationship with the teenager when she was 15. She is now 17 years-old.

Following his conviction, she was reported besotted with Forrest, and ready to wed him – despite him being married when they eloped.

Speaking after he was jailed at Lewes Crown Court, the schoolgirl said: "'I love Jeremy so much. I want to spend the rest of my life with him and maybe once he's out, we can marry and have children."

A source told the Mirror that Forrest wants the meeting to happen. "If it is for the girl's benefit and well-being, then Jeremy would like this meeting to happen.

"For the last eight months they have been trying to get this request granted and, finally, it looks like they are being taken seriously."
