Overview

The inaugural Pakistan Super League (PSL) continues to provide excitement and that is expected to continue as the Lahore Qalandars take on the Quetta Gladiators at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

The Qalandars led by Azhar Ali will be desperate to register their first win of the league after suffering humiliating defeats in their previous two games. The problem for the Lahore outfit is that their marquee players have failed to fire. Such are the dynamics of the team that they are over-reliant on Chris Gayle, Dwayne Bravo and Umar Akmal. The bowling has looked flat with no one stepping up to take leadership. These are early days, but a loss here will not hamper their progress to the knockout stages.

The only unbeaten team in the league, the Quetta Gladiators, who were supposedly the weakest team on paper, have impressed one and all. Luke Wright, Ahmed Shehzad, Kevin Pietersen and skipper Sarfraz Ahmed have all contributed at various stages. The find, though, is left-arm orthodox spinner Mohammad Nawaz. The 21-year-old is the leading wicket-taker with nine scalps, collecting two man-of the match awards in the process. The Gladiators will look to continue their unbeaten run.
