Overview

After managing a comfortable series win in the three-match Test series, Pakistan are looking for another series victory in the ODIs against England. Azhar Ali saw his side seal a victory in the first ODI on 11 November over the struggling English side.

England won the toss and Eoin Morgan elected to bat first. Things did not go as per plan for the Three Lions as they lost three wickets before the end of the fourth over. It was a brilliant partnership between the captain and James Taylor of 133 runs for the fourth wicket that saw them cross a total of 200.

After the dismissal of Morgan (76) and Taylor (60), England lost wickets at regular intervals. They were bowled out for 216 runs with two deliveries short of 50 overs.

In reply, Pakistan also lost their opening batsmen in the fourth over. It was Mohammad Hafeez who then took centre stage and scored an unbeaten 102 that helped the Asian side seal a comfortable six-wicket win in the opening match. It was Younis Khan's last ODI match for his country as he decided to end his career half way through the series.
