Global PC sales have fallen for the fifth quarter in a row marking the longest duration of decline in the PC market's history, according to research by Gartner and IDC.
Both sets of figures show PC shipments totalled around 76 million units in the second quarter, a drop of 11% compared to the same period last year, with Chinese company Lenovo listed by both as the number one PC manufacturer, ahead of HP.
PC sales have been hurt in recent years by the growing popularity of tablets and as consumers move towards touch-based devices.
