Chelsea captain John Terry has warned Petr Cech "will save Arsenal 12 to 15 points a season" should the Blues let him go to the Emirates Stadium.
Sky Sports recently claimed the Czech international goalkeeper has already agreed personal terms in principle to move to Arsenal during summer transfer window – although the clubs are still negotiating the terms of the deal.
Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has claimed on a number of occasions that he would like to keep Cech at Stamford Bridge next term and would be unlikely to bolster a direct rival for the Premier League title.
However, the veteran 'keeper has different plans and, having lost the number one role to Thibaut Courtois, is ready to leave the club.
Favouring a stay in the Premier League rather than a move to another country, Sky Sports claims his next destination will be the Emirates Stadium.
And Terry claims his departure to the Gunners will but a big boost for Arsenal's chances in the battle for the Premier League title next season.
"There is obviously talk of Arsenal signing Petr and if they do get Petr, that will strengthen them for sure. He will save them 12 to 15 points a season," Terry said to Talksport.
"I'm sure if he does leave the club, which nobody wants to see, he is going to be sorely missed. He will improve whatever side he goes to."
Nevertheless, the Chelsea captain understands Cech's position and praised the 'keeper for his acceptance of his secondary role at the Blues last season, where he helped them win the Premier League and the League Cup.
He said: "Petr has been at the top during his career. Thibaut has come in and to take Petr out of the team, you have to be a great talent and he has done that.
"As a professional, when you get left out of the team it's difficult to accept, but he was an unbelievable professional this season. He was excellent when he came in for games. He deserves a lot of credit.
The Chelsea centre-back believes Arsenal will be a threat for the Premier League title next season but also warned Manchester United and City are expected to spend big during the summer transfer window.
Terry added: "Manchester City were a little way off this year and will strengthen. I feel Arsenal and Manchester United will be very strong as well. We all know once you win it, everyone wants to beat you the following year. It will be even harder for us to win the league again."
