These dramatic pictures show the supermoon rising in Sydney, Australia.

The images show the Supermoon against the backdrop of the famous Sydney Opera House.

A supermoon occurs when the full moon is closer to Earth in its normal orbit than normal, making it look much brighter and larger than usual. August's supermoon is when the moon is at its closest point to Earth in 2014. It will be visible on 10 August.
