On 13 October, Sony debuted its debut virtual reality headset the PlayStation VR. The PS4 peripheral is aimed squarely at the gaming market, with a comprehensive line up of titles and launches at a competitive price point of £349 – several hundred pounds less than its PC-powered competitors.

After a fairly simple set-up procedure involving a few cables and the PlayStation 4 Camera peripheral, players can quickly jump into the virtual world for a stunningly immersive experience through the power of the PSVR and Sony's popular home console.

With big name franchises like Rocksteady Studios' Batman: Arkham series, Driveclub and Supermassive Games' Until Dawn all starring at launch, Sony's virtual reality foray has got off to a cracking start. Rival HMDs like the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive are still waiting for their first killer apps.

To celebrate the launch, IBTimes UK invited several of its office members to sample the PSVR's virtual playgrounds and film it for your viewing pleasure.
