A six-year-old girl who was hit and killed by a car in Hertfordshire has been named as Lara Fernandes-Pontes.
The child was hit by a Land Rover Discovery at 3pm on Sunday in Hayling Road, Watford.
She was taken to hospital where she later died.
Hertfordshire Police are now appealing for witnesses to come forward to assist with their enquiries.
Sergeant Chris Kent said: "This is a tragic loss of a young life in these circumstances. The family are being supported by specialist officers at this difficult time.
"The driver and the occupants of the vehicle were unharmed but obviously shaken by what happened.
"At the moment we are investigating the circumstances of the collision and whilst we have spoken to a number of people at the scene, we'd be keen to hear from anyone who witnessed what happened and has not yet spoken to officers."
