Police question man accused of attacking teen girl leaving her 'fighting for her life'
The girl, who was attacked in Middlesbrough at 3am, is in hospital in a critical condition.
Police are questioning a 21-year-old man who has been linked with the attack of a teenage girl in the early hours of Saturday (29 April) in Middlesbrough.
The incident allegedly occurred on Marton Road when police were called to the scene at around 3am GMT after receiving an emergency call from a member of the public.
Emergency services subsequently arrived and transported an 18-year-old girl to James Cook University Hospital for treatment after she suffered "significant injuries", according to Cleveland Police.
"She was taken to James Cook University Hospital with significant injuries and she remains in a critical condition," said a spokesman for Police.
Marton Road was closed for a short amount of time, as well as the road just following the Southfield Road junction right up until a roundabout at Longlands, near a Kwik Fit. Forensic officers have begun collecting evidence.
The road has now been reopened, although the house itself has been taped off.
