British Transport Police are searching for a man who violently attacked a tube worker at Piccadilly Circus station on Tuesday night (1 November) after urinating on the entrance gates. Police have released a picture of the man and are asking anyone with information to contact them

Police say the incident took place at 7:25pm on Tuesday. After finding that the bathrooms were closed the pictured man proceeded to urinate on the entrance gates of the station, he then became violent when a male member of staff refused to let him travel.

The man lunged toward the staff member and bit the right side of his face, police say. "This was a nasty and unprovoked attack on a person who was just doing their job," said investigating officer PC Matthew Hogg.

"We will not stand for it. If you have any information or recognise the man in this photo, please let us know."

Anyone with information is asked to contact British Transport Police on 0800 40 50 40 or text 61016, quoting 500 of 2/9.
