On the last night of Pope Benedict' the XVI, three day visit to Leon in Mexico, he was serenaded by a group of Mariachi musicians.

Hundreds of worshippers sang along and shouted for the Pope to come out. Pope Benedict then greeted the musicians and addressed the cheering crowd. And then out of nowhere a huge traditional Mariachi hat was whipped out, which the Pope gamely put on his head. The musicians each then received a special Papal blessing.

Entering into the spirit of the festivities, The Pope then said "In all his trips, he had never been received with such enthusiasm." To which the crowd responded good naturedly, "Benedict, our brother, you are Mexican now."

The Pope will continue to Cuba for the next part of his tour of Catholic countries.
