More and more women are going online in search of porn, a sex study has found Pornhub

Website user statistics have revealed the porn viewing habits of women around the world. The data, compiled by adult websites Pornhub and RedTube, which have a combined 40 million unique visitors a month, was published by The Daily Beast.

Using high-tech analytics software, the data revealed some surprising findings, as more women than ever admit to watching porn. And it seems they are also more discerning than men when it comes to their x-rated viewing.

One of the key revelations was that women are into watching women. Traditional guy-on-girl porn just doesn't cut it, as women are going online in seek of girl-on-girl action. In fact, the words most often searched for by women looking for online porn include "lesbian," "threesome," "milf" and "squirt."

The results for the most sought after adult female star was also something of a surprise. While Mia Khalifa was recently crowned Pornhub's No. 1 ranked adult female star, among XXX actresses, in fact it's reality TV star Kim Kardashian that women can't get enough of.

According to the data, Kardashian who once starred in a sex tape and posed naked for Playboy, eclipses Khalifa as the 'porn star' women search for most, followed by former Teen Mom reality star Farrah Abraham and retired porn actress Lisa Ann (AKA the star of Who's Nailin' Paylin?).

While Kim Kardashian's empire encompasses TV, public appearances, lucrative brand endorsements, clothing and make up lines and computer apps, even she might not have expected to have cornered the market in online porn.

And it turns out women all over the world are watching porn. They may not watch as much as men, but the changing sexual mores means the gap between the sexes is bridging when it comes to the consumption of xxx rated content.

Even in Japan, where conservative attitudes to sex prevail, 17 percent of women admitted to watching porn. In the US, it was 23 percent. Meanwhile, the keenest porn enthusiasts reside in the Philippines and Brazil where 35 percent of porn users are female as compared to 65 percent male.

In traditionally conservative India, 30 per cent of women are regular users of porn sites, while France brings up the rear, so to speak, with 24 per cent admitting to turning to online porn on a regular basis.

Women are not only watching more porn than ever before, it seems they have rather more staying power than their male counterparts and are spending more time watching porn than men.

Women tune in for a worldwide average of 10 minutes and 10 seconds, compared to men at just 9 minutes and 22 seconds. In the U.S. the ladies are lasting even longer, with women spending an average of 11:23 minutes satisfying their porn cravings.

Overall, the data indicates a growing liberalism and acceptance when it comes to viewing porn that was once deemed a predominantly male preoccupation.

In a sign of the changing times, modern women around the world are embracing porn and they don't care who knows about it.
