Portugal will face Algeria in the Rio 2016 Olympics men's football Group D clash at Mineirao on Wednesday (10 August).

Two back-to-back wins against Argentina and Honduras have seen Portugal sit on top of the table and they have already confirmed their berth in the next round. They sit on top of the group table with six points after two matches.

Rui Jorge's side will be looking to keep their winning streak intact when his side take on Algeria. Avoiding defeat will see Portugal seal the top spot on the table and they will be hoping to seal another three points on Wednesday.

In their previous fixture, Portugal defeated Honduras 2-1 win that saw them clinch the first place in Group D. Despite taking an early lead in the first minute, Honduras were not able to clinch their second win and lost to Portugal.

On the other, Algeria come into this fixture after losing both their matches against Argentina and Honduras. They have been knocked out of the event as even a victory over Portugal will not be sufficient for them to progress.
