Pretty Little Liars season 7
Pretty Little Liars season 6 ended with Hanna getting kidnapped Freeform

Cancellation rumours have hit Pretty Little Liars again and this time a major hint has come from Troian Bellisario's (Spencer's) fiancé Patrick J Adams. Going by what could have slipped out accidentally by Adams, it seems like season 7 would be end of the show.

While promoting his new show Suits at the ATX Television Festival, the actor opened up about his wedding plans, but apparently revealed PLL's future. "I'm really excited to be married to Troian! We've been together a long time, it's long overdue. Our relationship, it basically expands the length of our shows," he told Hollywood Life.

"Our anniversary is the day she got back from shooting the pilot of Pretty Little Liars. She got home and we had our first date together. So the fact that the show is coming to an end this year — and after that we'll be hopefully walking to getting married and starting the next chapter of our lives together — it's pretty cool."

So does this mean that Pretty Little Liars will not return with season 8?

As of now, neither show creator Marlene King, nor the TV channel Freeform have addressed cancellation rumours. However, fans are aware that the upcoming instalment of the series is going to be filled with romance and suspense. As teased previously by King, there will be major revelations in almost every episode.

King had said that the real face behind the Uber A mask would be unravelled in the first few episodes, and this left fans wondering what to expect if the show continued for another season.

Pretty Little Liars season 7 is the season of homecoming as the show's creator is bringing back multiple characters from past seasons. The recent addition is Lindsey Shaw, who will return to reprise Emily's former love interest Paige McCullers.

Previously, Lucy Hale (Aria) too said that the show will end soon. "Its ending," she said during The Late Late Show with James Corden, and added that "We've been doing it for six years... and I think that all good things must come to an end."

Pretty Little Liars season 7 will premiere on 21 June and will focus on the rescue mission of Hanna by the liars Aria, Spencer and Emily.
