Hit show Prison Break will return for a limited revival series in Fox Fox

Dominic Purcell and Wentworth Miller's busy schedule for Legends Of Tomorrow has led to speculation that the premiere of Prison Break season 5 may get delayed. The extended season of the highly popular action series featuring the story of two brothers Michael Scofield (Miller) and Lincoln Burrows (Purcell), was clashing with the premiere of the CW show.

Purcell, however, has confirmed to TV Line that season 5 is happening and producers of both the series, Warner Bros (Legends) and 20th Century Fox (Prison Break) are "negotiating the complexities". As the duo are currently busy with the filming of Legends Of Tomorrow season 1, the shooting for the 10-episode limited series will reportedly begin sometime during spring.

"But we are hopeful that we'll be able to shoot something this spring. Prison Break is taking its cue from Legends, which is the priority. So we're aiming for spring," Miller told the website.

Fans of the Fox series were left heartbroken when season 4 concluded with the death of Michael who sacrificed his life to help his wife Sara escape prison. But the upcoming season 5 will show that the lead protagonist is alive and producers have claimed that the show will offer an explanation for the same.

Prison Break season 5 will begin years after the events of season 4 and will bring back some of the popular characters.

"I would describe it as a bit of a sequel. It picks up the characters several years after we left them in the last season of the show. The brothers will be back. Some of the iconic characters from that show will be back. I don't think [exec producer] Paul [Scheuring] knows exactly where he's going over the 10-episode arc, but it definitely will address some questions that were set up at the end of the series for a new audience," Fox CEO Dana Walden told TV Line.
