Manchester , United Kingdom (IBwire.com - August 19, 2009) A trip to Barcelona is not complete without sampling some of the culinary delights on offer in the city.
As well as dining out in the many fine restaurants and tapas bars, those staying in Barcelona Hotels can now go one step further by taking a gourmet tour.
Organised by Barcelona Walks, the tours last around two hours and make an ideal excursion for food fans and those interested in learning about the history of the city's cuisine.
The guided walks focus on the old town area of Barcelona and take in many of the many of
its finest restaurants, food outlets and street markets, giving holidaymakers the chance to sample tasty treats on their way around.
Walkers are accompanied by a professional who is on hand to offer advice on the best places to eat and provide information about the history of some of the city's finest establishments.
Wireless audio technology is used to ensure visitors do not miss out on anything the tour guide is saying during the trip.
Adult tickets cost 18 euros (GBP15.49), while child passes are priced at seven euros.
Tours depart from the Turisme de Barcelona Information Office and those interested in taking part are advised to arrive at least ten minutes before their allocated departure time.
