Steve Herrera, President of Altech Solar, said "We are excited to sponsor AREDAY and believe whole-heartedly in its mission to promote education and awareness of renewable energy and energy efficient technologies as practical solutions to global warming." He went on to say, "Altech Solar’s mission is closely aligned with the theme of this year's AREDAY conference.” The conference theme, “The Problem IS the Solution: Wall St. meets Green St. - Creating the New Energy Economy,” will be the focus of the collaborative forums held with attendance of major representatives of government, industry, financial firms and non-profits at The Aspen Institute’s facilities is Aspen, Colorado August 18 through 22.

Altech Solar will be onsite at the Renewable Energy Expo on Saturday, August 22 in downtown Aspen. A limited number of openings are available for a hands-on tour of the solar thermal system at the St. Regis.

The St. Regis Resort in Aspen contracted Altech Solar to install its custom solar thermal technology, which has already dramatically decreased the resort's dependence on natural gas; the price of which has skyrocketed in recent years.

The Resort has made major strides in decreasing its carbon footprint, as the system is expected to decrease the hotel's natural gas usage seasonally by as much as fifty percent.  Both Altech Solar and the St. Regis expect a return on the investment of two to four years, including government rebates, tax credits, tax depreciation and current gas prices.
