Police have appealed for witnesses following the death of a motorcyclist whose vehicle was involved in a fatal collision with a car on Streatham High Road at the junction with Norfolk House Road.

The 31-year-old victim was taken by ambulance to St George's Hospital, Tooting, where he died later.

The driver of the car was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving. He has been bailed to return to a south London police station in December.

It is believed that the Nissan Almera was carrying a passenger.

"We are appealing for anyone who witnessed this collision to contact us. We are particularly keen to speak to any passenger travelling in the car at the time of the collision," said Detective Sergeant John Hartfree of the Road Death Investigation Unit at Hampton Traffic Garage.
